Employment Outlook for Dental Hygienist Jobs in Canada

Even though the job market is competitive, dental hygienists are always in demand. With more immigrants moving to Canada and with a growing population, the demand for dental care continues to increase.

Is dental hygienist a good career choice in Canada?

The employment outlook will be good for Dental hygienists and dental therapists (NOC 3222) in Ontario for the 2022-2024 period.

Registered Dental Hygienists to administer botox & dermal fillers

Registered Dental Hygienists should be able to administer Botulinum toxins as well as Dermal fillers.  We specialize in head and neck, we know all the muscles of the face, we administer local anesthetics daily.  We are certified in CPR and emergencies. Nurses can administer botox and dermal fillers, some only have a 2 year degree, with little knowledge of head and neck anatomy. If they can have a 2 year degree to administer and get special training, then registered dental hygienists should be allowed as well.  They can administer under the guidance of a Dr, then hygienists should be allowed as well.  I have been an RDH, EFDA with anesthetic license for 28 years, I administer local anesthetics daily.  This petition will allow Dental hygienists to get specialized training to administer botulinum toxins and dermal fillers under the guidance of a Doctor. We are highly trained and should be able to continue our education to allow us to expand our functions,  we unlike nurses specialize in head and neck as well as being very in tune with esthetics.  We are great educators and are highly trained and skilled. Please sign the petition to expand our capabilities. Make the change happen! Thank you!
